The aim of comprehensive programmes tailored to a specific skin disease is to reduce the need for corticoids, which often play an important role in the treatment of skin diseases. In acute cases of treatment of skin diseases, corticoids are often irreplaceable, but they do not solve the problem in the long term, because the problems return once their use is discontinued.
